      The Tutor- Professor Georgina M. Garcia

Professor Georgina Merlo Garcia, has been a CPA and Accounting Professor for over 20 years. She graduated from the University of Miami with High Honors, receiving her Bachelors of Business Administration with a Major in Accounting. She started her career at Cordis Corporation, where in less than 7 years she went from Staff Accountant, to Senior Accountant, Supervisor of the General Accounting Department and Associate Manager of the General Accounting within the Controllers Office. 

Her quest for more knowledge and advancement in her professional career led her to Florida International University's School of Accounting, where she obtained her Masters in Accounting and Taxation. She loved  academia and after working for the Controllers Office at FIU, as an Assistant Controller, she began teaching for the School of Accounting at FIU. She has taught at the undergraduate level to Accounting and non-Accounting Majors,as well as the graduate level to MBA students at FIU, the University of Miami and  Ivy League institutions  such as as the Kelloggs' School of Management, sponsored by Norwestern University.

She recently obtained a Diploma from FIU's Center for Accounting and Auditing in Fraud Examination.

Prof. Garcia has excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills. She is able to impart her knowledge to her students. She is bilingual, fluent in English and Spanish. She follows up with her students and takes that personal interest to ensure sucess in their areas of interest.
